Spice employees donate blood to Red Cross Society

More than 100 employees donate blood


Ludhiana, August 06, 2005:
Taking care of the poor & needy by distributing clothes & gifts during festive occasions such as Holi, to recognizing its responsibility towards society by contributing for people affected by natural calamities such as Tsunami, Spice Telecom, Punjab's premier cellular operator, has been carrying with responsibility its role of a good corporate citizen.

Taking yet another step towards good corporate citizenship, a "Blood Donation Camp" was organized by Spice employees located at Ludhiana along with the channel partners of the company. The camp was organized in coordination with a local NGO, Red Cross Society, which saw enthusiastic Spiceans participating with zeal and contributing towards this noble cause. The occasion was marked by surprise gift hampers along with Donor card for participants. A team of well-qualified doctors, along with volunteers ensured the smooth coordination of the camp.

Congratulating the employees for making the event a success, Mr.Devinder Thakur, Regional Manager, Spice Telecom, Punjab, stated "Continuing with the role of responsible corporate denizens, possessing true Spicean spirit, the Spice employees have shown their responsibility towards society in yet another innovative manner. This time around more than 100 employees volunteered to "donate blood to save a life", aptly justifying the slogan for the event."

Mr.Thakur further commented that "Spiceans have always come forward to support any noble cause & this is our way of saying we care for the people of Punjab. Prior to this, Spiceans celebrated Valentines' day with the children of Mother Teresa's Home, where employees brought gifts, toys, storybooks, music cassettes & CDs. Recently the festive occasion of Holi was celebrated with great enthusiasm with underprivileged children. Similarly, we hope to be able to celebrate life - the Spice way again in the future. "
