Spice brings cheer & delight to children of Mother Teresa's home

~ Underprivileged children receive Spice gifts & goodies ~

Chandigarh, February 22, 2006:
In continuation of its efforts of sharing the joys of life with the less privileged children, Spice Telecom, Punjab's premier cellular operator, today brought in much cheer & delight for the children of Mother Teresa's 'Missionaries of Charity' located at Sector 23, Chandigarh. As part of its corporate social initiative, Spice presented the children with gifts and goodies brought specially for them from the homes of approximately 150 Spice employees. The occasion was marked with excitement and fun as the children were seen having the time of their lives as they were treated to exciting gifts and goodies from Spice.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Monica Bajpai, Head - Human Resource, Spice Telecom, Punjab, stated that, "Spice Telecom has always made a conscious effort to reach out to the underprivileged sections of our society. Festive occasions like Holi, Diwali, Christmas & New Year's, are celebrated with these special children, as we hope to be able to give them a unique opportunity to rejoice and usher in festive celebrations with much cheer and excitement. Seeing the enthusiasm that has been generated among these children today we are extremely delighted and hope to be able to come up with many more such programs. This initiative is a small step towards helping these children celebrate life - the Spice way."

Spice Social Responsibility Initiatives
Spice has had a rich history of contributing to the upliftment of under-privileged children as part of their social responsibility initiative. In the recent past, Spice Telecom has celebrated special festive occasions and organized events for the underprivileged children:

1.Spice Telecom celebrated the festive occasion of New Year 2006 with over 200 underprivileged children, in association with Theatre Age, an NGO promoted by Zulfikar Khan, with a dance party organized exclusively for the underprivileged children.

2.The birthday of Spice brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra, was celebrated with children from Bal Niketan, where young children between the age groups of 5 to 15 years were seen as having the time of their lives as they were treated to exciting gifts & refreshments.

3.Underprivileged children were treated to cricketing excitement with Punjab's very own ace-spinner, Harbhajan Singh as he gave tips on bowling, batting, fitness to each of the budding enthusiast.

4.The colourful occasion of Holi was celebrated with children from Bal Niketan, with colours, pitchkaris, refreshments and Spice goodies.

5.Spice invited over fifteen underprivileged children from the organisation 'Red Cross Bal Bhawan' to celebrate the excitement and adventure of Catapulting and Bungee jumping.
